I am the only one that stands in the way of what I want.
It isn’t my bad luck.
It isn’t people that just don’t understand.
It isn’t that I am so busy that I just don’t have time right now.
It isn’t the competition.
It isn’t that my ideas are bad.
It is procrastination.
It is self doubt.
It is the lack of action.
It is the excuses.
It is me.
No one is going to give me anything.
If I want something bad enough, I have to go get it.
Nothing great comes without sacrifice.
Those that hold their hands out for the freebie..always will be.
Hard work and dedication breeds success.
It is up to me to make my own success.
It is not up to the guy down the street.
This is my journey.
These are my goals.
And this is my life.
I will not stand in my own way.

I love this. Thanks for reminding me.
I was reminding myself too! Thanks Krissy.
Nice – very well put. There’s an old saying “If I am not for myself, who will be?” and I think you have put this into modern terms quite well.
Thanks Elie…that quote is absolutely relevant. I remind myself everyday that the more I am myself and not who people think I should be or want me to be…I see the most success.
Nice clean work. I will put you as a link to my site.
Robb, I’ve struggled to motivate myself to make big changes lately. Thanks for the shove in the right direction.
Sure thing! This was my shove too…
Great words of inspiration Robb. You really know how to motivate people with your words of wisdom and I like that. This really pushed me in the right direction to a more better mind-set!
Robb,
It is so true that no one is going to give us anything. I think if all of us had this mindset there wouldn’t be as many people in this world looking for handouts. People who are physically able should be out there working hard trying to make it on their own. Hard work never hurt anyone and may just pay off!
Great post.
Best,
Bob
[…] This is by par the most important part of becoming a six figure blogger. By now you should have a pretty good idea of what you plan on doing to improve yourself. Now, put it into action. Don’t sit back and watch someone steal your glory because you decided you were too lazy to do something. Remember, you are the only person that stands in the way of achieving success. […]
[…] I also suggest checking out Robb Sutton’s post “I am the only one that stands in the way” […]
This post is so great I had to come back and read it again. This re-motivated my mindset!
