We are back from the Bahamas and successfully made it through our first year of being married! They always say…the first year is the hardest…so from here on it should be a walk in the park right? Well, at least I kept Jenn convinced that it is a good idea to stay married to me for another year, so that is a good thing. We took our long weekend and set out on a cruise to the Bahamas and it was a much needed rest out in the sun. The cruise left on Friday, so we left Thursday night and arrived in Cape Canaveral, FL around 3am…just in time for me to wake up early and head to the government office to pick up a copy of my Florida birth certificate that I didn’t have…
Once on the ship, it was time to relax and enjoy the sun for awhile. Both of us have been under a little bit of stress lately with work and some things in our personal life, so this was just what the doctor ordered as the ship set sail out of telephone and email range. So here are a couple of pictures in the sun you can drool over during your day at the office…

From Florida, the ship takes a direct route to Nassau, Bahamas where you get a full day to walk around, shop and enjoy something completely different than the mainland US. As we were coming into port, there was a really cool ship docked up to some pipeline that I can only imagine was probably some kind of oil or other natural resource. This is probably my favorite shot of the trip. The water is so beautiful that you find yourself just starring at it.

After we docked, Jenn and I got out to walk around Nassau and get some duty free, tax free shopping done. This was my second trip to the Bahamas but it was Jenn’s first. She had no idea that she was about to experience some serious in your face marketing as we got off the ship. You are greeted by everything from necklace makers to kids offering to sing you a song for a dollar and they are not discrete about wanting your money. My favorite was the guy offering free necklaces…what you didn’t know was that right after he put the “free” necklace on you, he was going to want a tip. One of the couples at our dinner table fell for that trick.

As soon as we got past all of the chaos, we headed over to Senor Frogs for some lunch. Jenn obviously wasn’t having any fun at all.

We even threw some money away at Atlantis playing dreamjackpot games (you aren’t supposed to take pictures in a Casino…so you didn’t see this!). I didn’t end up playing any poker during this trip like I normally would…just wasn’t feeling it for some reason. I still prefer to play sbobet88 game or playing in my room with sbobet mobile, I love it too!

The second day you head over to the Royal Caribbean’s private beach/island Coco Cay for some fun in the sun. It was nice to get out and feel the sand in between our toes.

As you can see, the weather was absolutely perfect as went spent hours just eating a relaxing. We even got Jenn a floating raft for the after noon at a cheap $10.00…yes…the food is free but they make up for it with the drinks and everything else!

Yeah…we were pretty much smiling the entire time. Who wouldn’t be? It is my theory that if you can’t have fun out here…you can’t have fun anywhere. What you can’t see with this picture is my skin starting to turn red. Apparently my farmers/cycling tan allowed me to get a sunburn in the shape of a t-shirt…fantastic!

The last night…I finally went up to the top deck to capture some shots of the sunset. Unfortunately, it moved in behind some clouds in the horizon just as it started going down. The top shot is waiting on the sun to fall and the bottom shot was the best I could get. That is what I get for waiting until the last night!

The trip was great. I was able to clean out the thoughts in my head and come up with some great ideas for the next 6 months worth of blogging. Now…it is time to get back to work and finish up the How To Start A Blog series and get some reviews up on products that I have been using lately. Getting away and stepping back from life for a short period of time can really make you appreciate what you have and help clear your mind by getting out of the rat race. If you really want to be productive in your blogging…you need to step away from time to time to get perspective on where you are and where things are going.
