I have also approached several other companies to try and arrange an agreement. I'm glad I did many of the things you mentioned already and gotten a few "contact me next week"s and some "No"s. I did like the part about following-up with snail mail though. It's a nice touch and I will do that with some of the "contact me next week"s :).
